This is the first in a series of presentations that coincide with Bishop Museum’s Holo Moana: Generations of Voyaging exhibit, which is scheduled to open on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
This talk centers on the planning of the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage: the idea, the reason, the commitment, all the details and logistics, the challenges, and risks of sailing Hōkūleʻa around the world. Come and experience the “hub” or “central command” of the endeavor.
The Hawai'i Community College Marine Education Training Center is also the control room, the classroom and mooring site for Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia.
