A great spot! We were visiting town and felt so welcomed by everyone here. Don’t hesitate to stop in and enjoy a great drink, homemade food, and a truly friendly vibe!
Beers and grub. Great price for a ribeye ill be back for that alone. Game day for sure.
It was a vibe for sure. The food was great and the beer was cold. A place I wish I could hang out at again.
We had the pleasure of dining at this new Kailua spot, Shorebreak, that’s taken over the space where The Shack—and more recently The Three 4—used to be. And they struck a really nice balance here. They brought back that old-school Kailua feel—those license plates are up again, giving it that familiar, local vibe—but kept it clean and refreshed. It’s got that character without any of the wear, and opening up the front to let in natural light makes a huge difference—bright, comfortable, and easy to settle into. I went with my son, and he loved the steak—really enjoyed it, no complaints there. The fries came out crispy and hot, just how they should be. For me, I’d go a touch more salt, but that’s just my taste—they were still very good. What really stood out, though, was the feel of the place. The owner came out, brought us some poke on the house, and took the time to chat. Not rushed, not forced—just genuine. That kind of interaction makes it feel like a true neighborhood spot, the kind of place you want to support. Shorebreak feels like a thoughtful evolution of that space—keeping the local character, keeping things clean and welcoming, and adding a personal touch that goes a long way. Kailua’s got a great one here.
Good size servings on the food. Good place to go to for local feel
