Great location for a quiet vacation that is only 15-20 minutes away from waikiki. Showing some signs of old age. Would be helpful if management told guests that turn down service with water & slippers are on request only now, which isna change over the last several months.
My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding here, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The service is absolutely exceptional, and every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We really appreciated the beautiful ocean views and the quiet, peaceful vibe of the entire resort—it's the perfect relaxing getaway. Also, I highly recommend the breakfast at Plumeria Beach House; it was fantastic! A truly memorable stay from start to finish.
This has been an amazing experience for my girlfriend’s graduation trip! Masa at front desk was very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late at night feeling exhausted. Masa greeted us with professionalism and enthusiasm. He gave us a great room with amazing views that immediately made the trip so exciting for us. His manager also helped us carry the luggage into our room. This place has a great beach that is not crowded and very delicious breakfast buffet. We highly recommended this place!
The Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu, known historically as "Kahally-wood," has hosted numerous celebrities, including Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, and Michael Jackson. Other notable guests include Queen Elizabeth II, U.S. Presidents from Lyndon B. Johnson to George W. Bush, Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan, King Charles, Adam Sandlers, Angelina Jolie, Bob Hope, Burt Reynolds, Dean Martin, Diana Ross, Drew Barrymore, Duke Kahanamoku, Elizabeth Taylor, Elton John, George Clooney, Janet Jackson, Julie Andrews, Justin Timberlake, Lucille Ball, Nicolas Cage, Rihanna, Rod Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, ... you get the drill. The hotel features a "Wall of Fame" near the lobby that showcases photos of many of these famous visitors. We strolled the gorgeous grounds of this hotel and resort as we were early for our dinner reservations and wow. Truly a lovely hotel and resort. Lots of photo spots (we saw someone setting up for a proposal on their beach), you can see dolphins here, there was an adorable cat named Natto, and the staff are really friendly and kind. What a gorgeous hotel. It's no wonder why celebrities vacation here at this hotel and resort while on Oahu.
We got married at the Kahala Hotel and cannot recommend them enough! The staff at the Kahala are some of the most kind and attentive people I have encountered at a hotel. Naoko Abarca was our catering manager, and her communication and organization were top notch. The day of our wedding was stormy, so we had to pivot to moving our ceremony into the lobby area underneath their gorgeous chandeliers. Despite the pivot, everything turned out even better than I could have imagined thanks to Naoko and all the staff who made everything run seamlessly. The reception was gorgeous, and all our guests raved that our dinner buffet was the best food they've ever had at a wedding! The hotel grounds are also stunning and made the perfect backdrop for our special day. We also stayed at the hotel for three days during our wedding and were so impressed by the rooms and attentive staff. Housekeeping and room service were kind and thorough, and we also had a spa day with an amazing scrub and massage! The best part of the Kahala is how removed it is from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki - it truly feels like a retreat, without being too far from all the fun activities that the city has to offer. All in all, I cannot thank the Kahala enough for a wonderful stay and an even more wonderful wedding. Even though the weather was bad, the staff made everything perfect and I'm so grateful we booked our wedding with them. I would do it all over again if I could! We can't wait to come back to the Kahala for future anniversaries and special occasions with our family.
