Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach

Absolutely perfect for what my fiancé and I needed. We stayed here 4 nights at the beginning of our trip in an ADA room since that’s all that was available (we booked the trip last minute and knew this would be the case ahead of time). The room was clean although the bathroom seemed a bit outdated- fine for what we needed, we weren’t looking for 5 star luxury accomodations. We stayed on the North Shore for a few nights and came back to stay at Hyatt Place for our last night on the island. They upgraded us the last night to an ocean view room on the top floor which was incredible, this room felt more recently renovated. We had no issues with the elevators, the most we ever waited was maybe a few minutes if that. You can’t beat the free breakfast with the location right next to the beach and Waikiki. I would not book this hotel for the pool as it’s quite small but if you’re going to be exploring and at the beach for most of the day like we were, this is the hotel for you. In terms of service, hotel staff texted us throughout our stay to ensure all our needs were taken care of. We had the most wonderful time and hope to be back!
Parking situation and valet service is horrible. Upon arrival there was no valet parking slots available so we had to park the car in an offsite a garage a few blocks down across of the Waikīki sunset. The young valet kid didn’t tell us that when we got there. He saw us pull up (we were the only car) watched us unload our own bags with a sleeping toddler and said nothing about their garage being full or where to go park until we walked up to him at his valet stand and asked him what we should do with our car. An older gentleman later showed up, saw that we needed help with our luggage and brought us a luggage cart then helped us up to our room. He was great! Really nice guy. We were assigned an ADA room and the soap holder still had a bloody band aid on it from the last guest so we had to have someone come disinfect the entire shower. Elevator was ridiculously slow, we ended up using the stairs 95% of the time and we were on the 6th floor. Breakfast was just okay but really busy. The only good service we had was at check in with the front desk gal and the older valet gentleman that helped us to the room. They are what kept this from being a 1 star review. The refillable water bottles upon check in were nice to have too. Thankfully I used my Hyatt employee rate so I can’t be too mad about it this time but even with a discounted rate in the future I wouldn’t ever stay here again!
I came to Honolulu for my 50th reunion from high school here and decided to stay here because I like Hyatt group of hotels. It is located towards the East end of Waikiki, fairly close to Kapiolani Park and Zoo. Only a block away from the beach. The hotel itself is somewhat dated, and probably could use some freshing up. Not much parking space, so I had to use nearby public parking for$50 per 24 hours while valet parking at the hotel is $60. The staff were courteous and efficient. I decided to splurge and got high floor ocean view room. The room was small sized compared to other Hyatt Place, but clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was what I expected, pretty good but nothing grand. It was good to see steamed white rice with miso soup, kimchee and pickled Japanese cucumber. The dining area is outside next to the swimming pool. Do be careful to protect your food from a throng of small birds. They are aggressive.
We had a fantastic stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki! The hotel is in a perfect location, just a short walk from Waikiki Beach, restaurants, and shops. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the complimentary breakfast was a great start to each day. A special thank you to Dino and Bojan for their exceptional hospitality. They were always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. We also want to mention that, despite reading some comments about the elevators, we had no issues at all. The elevators were efficient during our stay, and everything went smoothly. We highly recommend Hyatt Place Waikiki and would happily stay here again!
My friends and I had a great stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki! The location was perfect—close enough to the main Waikiki strip that everything was easily walkable, but just far enough away to enjoy a quieter atmosphere. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. They made us feel well taken care of and were always happy to help whenever we had questions or needed anything. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Honolulu. Highly recommend!
