Surrounded by beautiful sea cliffs, Makapu'u Beach is one of Hawaii's most popular beach destinations. Many bodyboarders and bodysurfers come here because of the powerful waves and currents which make it perfect for these activities. Not to mention you can also go to the nearby Makapu'u Lighthouse located on the sea cliffs.

Makapu'u Beach most of the time has rip currents and powerful waves making it great for surfers and boarders but at the same time it isn't great for leisure swims. This beach is not only gorgeous but also gives you access to nearby tourist attractions like the Makapu'u Lookout and Makapu'u Lighthouse. Of course the beach itself features white sand and clear blue waters.

Makapu'u Beach is located along Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo which is just a couple of minutes away from key locations such as Makapu'u Tidepools and the main highway. From here you can clearly see the gorgeous ocean as well as the two islands namely Rabbit Island and Black Rock. There are also a couple of restaurants and other accommodations nearby to opt for.
