Its a great place. Only down side is if you have a family of 4 I wouldn't recommend, the rooms are small not much to move around in. The restroom door was hard to slide open and the wait time for elevators was long. Also parking rate was a lot, and it was first come first serve so if you paid the fee and there was no parking then you were SOL. Other then that the stay was great the staff was awesome.
The team here made our stay very comfortable, as a military family moving off island they were super accommodating. Gladys at the front desk is a breath of fresh air and was super accommodating and very up front and transparent with information. In hectic times of moving, she and the team put our minds at ease. We stayed here 4 years ago when we moved to island and our kids specifically requested to stay here again on our way out. I would 100% stay here again for leisure or business travel!
I usually try to leave positive reviews whenever possible, but I feel compelled to share my honest experience this time. As a Hawaii resident, I recently stayed at this hotel for one night using my IHG anniversary night certificate. While the check-in process itself was smooth, I was informed that a $100 deposit and a $39.17 resort fee would be charged. While the deposit is refundable, I was highly disappointed to learn that the resort fee was mandatory. When using points or free night certificates in places like Japan or South Korea, I have never been charged a resort fee. In fact, I visited both countries just three months ago and paid no such fees. I didn’t even use the pool, nor do I even know if this hotel has one. To me, charging a "resort fee" at a property located far from the beach makes little sense. If a hotel insists on charging a resort fee, it should at least provide the basic amenities to justify it. My room did not have a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, slippers, or a bathrobe—absolutely nothing. Paying an extra fee for a "resort" experience when even the bare essentials are missing is, frankly, unacceptable and frustrating from a guest's perspective. If this hotel wants to charge a resort fee, they need to properly equip their rooms and services to match that standard. I am highly disappointed with this stay.
The staff were very pleasant and helped out when we needed a later checkout. The breakfast was good although it was always very busy due to so many guest in such a small area. An elevator was down while we were there making elevator wait times very long and almost impossible. We ended up talking the stairs about ninety five percent of the time due to this. The gym was very small and the bare minimum as well as half of the equipment being down. The hot tub didn’t work either. The rooms were very small only room for the bed basically. Room service wasn’t really room service it was just door dashing round table pizza that you have to go down to the lobby to pick up. Overall is a decent hotel if you just need a place to sleep at night but if you are wanting a hotel for the amenities find somewhere else. Also there is only a four story parking garage for a forty four story building and they charge you and extra $50 a night for parking that isn’t even guaranteed.
The view from our room was great! It was on the corner of 15th floor, but could see the ocean. Bed mattress and pillows were very good. Bus stop is very close to this hotel. Staffs here were very friendly and fantastic! Breakfast meals changes every day and delicious. There were several kinds of bread including pastries. Staffs said good morning with lovely smiling every morning. They seemed enjoying their work which made me start good days every day. A lady of information and map center is so kind and helpful.
