This small seafood spot was exactly what I was looking for! I ordered the fresh tuna catch of the day, and the bowl was incredibly fresh and delicious. It was my first time here, and I really enjoyed the experience.
So fresh. So tasty. So fast! This is the perfect place to grab a poke bowl for Sandy’s or after diving on east side. I’ve been multiple times to this Hawaii Kai location, as well as the location on Kapahulu. Neither one has ever disappointed. The girl who works the counter at Hawaii Kai (I forget her name) is always super friendly too! In a unique twist I haven’t seen at other poke shops, they include pickled veggies in the poke bowls. Surprisingly, I really like them!
A hidden gem. I went to the store in the Koko / Hanauma Bay area. This was easily the best poke I've ever had. Their plate lunches are an absolute steal in terms of quality and quantity. Had I known of this place when I was planning my trip, I would have found accommodations in this area instead! Get some malasadas from the nearby Leonard's truck after your meal.
really fresh and delicious poke!!! their kimchi, homemade natto and hawaiian sauce are really good. perfect portion size, not too much, not too little.
Seemed like everyone came in pointed at the poke bowl sign on the wall and ordered that. We ordered 2 plates instead: the Ahi Fever (which in hindsight we could have shared) and the Furikake Seared Ahi Plate. You know how the photos can look so much better than the actual food? This is not the case at this food joint. The food is spectacularly presented and is high-quality and fresh, fresh, fresh. What also surprised me is that the rice options were white, brown or sushi rice. Whoa, I need to come back and get a poke bowl on bed of sushi rice and try those amazing toppings. We will definitely be back. The seating is a bit limited and we were blessed to score the table for 2 in the corner in spite of the busy lunch rush.
