Description
Begin your hike with views of the active Halemaʻumaʻu Crater, featuring ongoing volcanic activity since December 23, 2024, including periodic lava fountains over 1,000 feet high. Trek across the solidified lava lake from the 1959 Kilauea Iki eruption and explore the Nahuku Lava Tube, observing geological formations created by ancient lava flows.
Our experienced guides will provide detailed insights into the park’s volcanic history, geology, ecology, and native flora and fauna. The hike covers varied terrain, enhancing your understanding of the natural forces shaping Hawaii’s landscape.
