Description
Lessons begin and end at the Jamie O’Brien School of Surf on the ground floor of the Twin Fin Hotel, directly across from Waikiki Beach. After check-in, guests receive secure lockers for their belongings. You only need to bring swimwear, reef-friendly sunscreen, and a towel. The school provides a rashguard, reef shoes, surfboard, and leash.
Each lesson starts with a 15–20 minute land session teaching ocean safety, basic surfing techniques, wave selection, and pop-up methods. Instructors customize the lesson to your skill level, focusing on paddling, stance, and safe practices.
In the water, the 4:1 guest-to-instructor ratio ensures personalized coaching as you catch your first waves. Instructors share their expertise and passion, guiding you throughout the session.
After surfing, return to the flagship shop to view professional photos of your lesson on digital screens. Photos are available for purchase.
