Description
This class combines yoga and stand-up paddleboarding in Hawaii’s tropical waters. You will learn to modify seated, kneeling, and reclining yoga poses to suit the water environment. The session emphasizes balance and core strength through standing poses with opportunities for individual practice.
Meet your instructor and small group at Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach Park, Honolulu. Instruction begins on shore, covering paddleboard yoga techniques for balance and stability. Then, you will wade into waist-deep water where your anchored board remains stable throughout the class.
The class begins with seated meditation, followed by a sequence of yoga poses adapted for paddleboards. Instructors provide modifications to match your ability level. As you gain confidence, you can try balance challenges with the option to fall safely into shallow water. The session ends with savasana, gently swaying with the ocean waves, allowing your fingers and toes to trail in the water.
