Travel through Kauai’s lush countryside and ascend the mountain road to Waimea Canyon, known as the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific.' Please note the Waimea Canyon Lookout is closed from July 14 to approximately December 8, 2025, for repairs. During this time, Pu‘uhinahina Lookout serves as the main viewpoint, with adjusted timing to spend more time at other stops.
At Koke‘e State Park, take a nature walk along the trail to observe native plants and listen for rare birds such as the ‘apapane and ‘i‘iwi. Visit the Koke‘e Natural History Museum, with a $3 donation included to support preservation efforts.
Lunch is available at Koke‘e Lodge, where guests enjoy a 10% discount amid mountain surroundings.
On the return journey, stop at Spouting Horn to see ocean waves create water spouts through lava rock formations. Visit Hanapepe to view the valley from its lookout and cross the Hanapepe Swinging Bridge.
Learn about Kauai’s history with a visit to the King Kaumuali‘i Statue at Pa‘ula‘ula (Russian Fort). Finish the tour at Kauai Coffee Plantation to observe coffee production from tree to cup and sample local brews.
