Maunawili Trail is a beautiful hiking trail that runs along the river and ends with a gorgeous falls and small pool you can swim in. Although a bit muddy at times, the trail is relatively safe and you often cross the river as well. Of course you are treated to amazing views of the surrounding mountains and vegetation and you can even see Kailua at the distance.
Maunawili Trail gives you an easy yet muddy and wet trail to hike on. At the end of the trail you'll get to see the waterfalls and you can even swim in the pool below or jump off of the waterfall for some diving adventures. The trail offers parking but is strict about it, also wear appropriate shoes when hiking on this trail, and last but not least is to bring bug spray or repellant for mosquitoes and other insects that tend to nip away at you.
Maunawili Trail is located along Maunawili Road in Honolulu which you can see the town of Kailua. From here the town is easily accessible as well and you can get access to important establishments and necessities from here. Being located a bit off of the main roads means that you have to prepare to bring necessities before going on this hiking trail.
