Waimea Arboretum and Botanical Garden has 150 acres full of different Hawaiian plants and is taken care of by 17 full-time horticultural experts and research staff. Housing over 5000 different tropical and subtropical plants, Waimea Arboretum and Botanical Garden has plenty to offer for nature enthusiasts and not to mention it is a great and relaxing way to spend time while in Hawaii. Many locals and visitors like to come here for the relaxing environment and there are plenty of schools that hold field trips to this garden as well.
Waimea Arboretum and Botanical Garden has plenty to offer with 36 separate display areas and that includes their bamboo grove, lei garden, and more. As mentioned earlier they house over 5000 different species of plants from all over the world and that includes plants from countries such as Guam, Sri Lanka, Fiji, and many more. The garden also has some trails for hiking enthusiasts and you can even go on a picnic here as well.
Waimea Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located along Kamehameha highway in Haleiwa which is close to the Wheeler Army Airfield. From here you can go to other tourist destinations nearby or travel along the highway and go to key locations and establishments on the island.
