This is not Waikiki! So if you’re looking for a tropical lush one of a kind experience then this is the hotel for you. The hotel is a little bit older, but the staff keeps it clean and well maintained. We are a family with the baby traveling with my husband for work and the optional studio one or two bedroom suites are very hard to come by in Hawaii. Thank you we had a great experience. The manager Marissa and the rest of the staff made sure we had a fantastic experience!! I also cannot say enough about the turtle snorkeling, Kanohe Bay sandbar excursion. I think it was $88 each but for 2 1/2 hours that includes snorkeling, sandbar experience, and a boat ride. My husband was working so I brought my two year-old a couple of the kids cousins and my 10-year-old. The kids had such a blast and it felt very safe where I get a little frightened about snorkeling. I needed to stay on the boat with my two year-old but the captain and his first mate (his teen son) offered to watch my toddler so I could snorkel for a little bit too!! so grateful for the opportunity to go on this exceptional excursion and stay in this beautiful hotel.
Had 3 days here in a standard room. As I was sharing with my adult daughter they were very obliging with supply of foldaway bed for her. The resort is lovely and bed was extremely comfortable. As it is situated in an area with lots of residential homes there isn't any shops nearby so best be prepared with own food which can be stored in good sized fridge in your room there is also a small stove and microwave. In the morning they have tea and coffee with banana bread and fresh fruit served on deck overlooking water which is beautiful and you get to meet and chat with other guests. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. We took the kayaks out one morning which are supplied free of charge and they also have snorkelling gear available. Beach towels are also supplied. As it is a residential area there are many chickens and roosters roaming which I like but not the crowing roosters at 4am, actually heard someone from another room yelling for them to shut-up! Overall I recommended staying here.
Perfect for nature lovers and active vacationers. The view from the room was exactly like on the pictures, there was a well equipped kitchen. Bathroom appliances were new. They offer free Kajak 🛶 rentals - great to explore the bay, also there is a guided snorkeling tour which you can buy and it is worth every penny. It is located within nature, so there is chickens running around the property and lots of birds. On weekdays they have a live music ukulele performer in the lobby which is really giving a great vibe in the evenings. You really feel the island - and yes, there might be a rooster waking you in the morning, but that’s the way it is also for the locals. If you want a boring overpriced tourist hotel - don’t go there. If you want a kind hearted place to stay with lots of flexibility (you have a kitchen, there is a nice pool and hottub, ice machine, laundry machines) then it is the place to go. But you know what - DON‘T go there - because I don’t want you to snatch my room away next time 😜 To the staff: Mahalo and Aloha from Vienna, Austria
We stayed at Paradise Bay Resort for three nights in a front ocean room. The room itself was quite old in style and furnishings, but it was clean and well maintained, which made the stay comfortable enough. It didn’t feel modern or recently renovated, but it was taken care of properly. The pool area also felt dated and could use some refreshing, though it was still pleasant to spend time there with the surrounding views. What really stood out in a positive way was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, approachable, and genuinely keen to help, which added warmth to the overall experience. In terms of value, the resort feels overpriced for what it offers. That said, we came to realize this is quite common across many hospitality places in Hawaii, where location and setting often drive the pricing more than the condition of the facilities. Overall, a mixed experience: beautiful setting and kind staff, but aging facilities and pricing that feels higher than the actual standard of the accommodation.
I have seen this place for years and always wanted to stay here. It’s great. It has an older Hawaii feel on the outside with modern amenities in the rooms. The kitchenettes are a great bonus. Some of the rooms have doors between them. Next time I want to check out some of the other lodgings. I definitely feel like the resort fee is worth it because when the weather is right, they have rentals to go out to the sandbar, which is a huge plus with that being included. I unfortunately was there in the wrong weather. I would warn people to request not to stay under the lobby if they’re not an early riser. It can be loud with footsteps in the morning. That would my only downside to a few of the rooms because there isn’t any soundproofing in between and no carpeting.
