Koa Oasis is one of my favorite little finds at Fort DeRussy Beach Park. Not for nothing, but for a tiny beach shack, they make some surprisingly solid cocktails. I’ve had the Mai Tai several times and recently tried the Li Hing Margarita for the first time. It definitely won’t be my last. In fact, I think I’d order it over the Mai Tai next time, which is saying a lot. The service is always outstanding. Every employee I’ve interacted with has been friendly, welcoming and efficient. Honestly, if I could give the service 10 stars, I would. The food selection is limited, but that’s not really the point. They have snacks, chips and hot dogs — enough to soak up the booze from the booze shack. 😂 One other thing worth mentioning: I’m not military, but if you’re active duty, retired military or a veteran, Koa Oasis offers a military discount with proof of service. Great drinks, great service and an unbeatable location just steps from the beach.
A beach bar, nothing more, nothing less. Rachael and Kimo were the best hosts, friendly and welcoming. Spent may sunsets here, with probably one of the best views on the front.
This place is the best for mai tais and people watching. Kimo is a superb bartender always friendly and we know because we stopped several times. It’s located right on the boardwalk and you can see all the ocean action from the umbrella covered tables right next to the walk. It’s the best to sip on a drink and watch the waves crash in and soak unsuspecting tourists. A must stop on a Waikīkī beach stroll!
Go see Kimo!!! Such a genuine great hearted person with stories to share. This was a favorite spot for me and the view is perfection. Literally, the closest spot on the water. The Mai-Tai is fantastic. People watching(especially the unsuspecting ones getting hit by the waves) is free entertainment at its best.
Kimo is such a great guy. My Hawaii trip had taken a turn for the worst and I admittedly went to his beach bar to drink some sadness away. Ended up meeting tons of great people there including Kimo. On my last day in Hawaii he gave me a goody bag with some original Hawaiian treats and a nice calendar. I promised him a bottle of Canadian maple syrup next time I'm in Hawaii and I'm looking forward to sharing a drink with him again. Beautiful views, delicious drinks for a great price, and perfect place to cross paths with some truly beautiful people inside and out.
