Waffle and Berry
Hawaii
En un coup d'œil

I visited a looked up and searched for restaurants prior to my trip to Hawaii & I found this one called Waffle and Berry. Since I knew I was going, I decided that Tedy’s Cravings should check it out. We examined the menu and ultimately selected the Waffle and Berry Breakfast Plate, priced at $18. The dish offers a generous portion, featuring soft scrambled eggs topped with savory smoked beef sausage, served alongside white toast and your choice of grits or granola cereal. There were four of us in total. The children shared a waffle and eggs, while my wife and I enjoyed portions from our breakfast plates. We also finished the grits, some granola, and part of the sausage later on. To complete the experience, there is an option to add ice cream with the waffle, which we chose to save for another visit—definitely a next time! The restaurant is conveniently within walking distance from our hotel. One of the highlights for me was the service; the owner or one of the proprietors was actively present, taking orders and assisting staff. The establishment was well-managed and a pleasure to visit from my perspective.
Amazing! My girls and I had 1/2 orders (technically mine was 1/3) and my husband had shrimp and grits. We were all very satisfied with our choices! My GPS directions put us on the wrong side of the shopping plaza. The easier access is off Royal Hawaiian, not Seaside.
They have the best acai bowl in all of Waikiki! The ingredients are fresh. The bowl comes with the standard toppings of strawberries, blueberries, and banana…with a natural no sugar or juices added acai. They then have a complementary “superfoods mini bar”….a help yourself topping bar of chia seeds, coconut, cocoa nibs, granola and honey. You can pay to add a waffle, peanut butter, and some other add ons if you choose, but I only recommend doing that if you are sharing since the bowl is a very large portion by itself! They provide free bottled water and coffee for guests too. Waffle & Berry is such a nice hidden gem!
Berry Fact: A true berry comes from one flower with one ovary. When meeting up with a colleague, she told me firmly, that while acai bowls originated in Brazil, they are a massive staple in Hawaii's food culture and considered a must-try, iconic snack there. Hawaii popularized the version widely found in the USA, adding local toppings like papaya, lilikoi, and macadamia nuts to the frozen blended berry base. And she recommended the best place. They frequently top the "Yelp's Best..." lists! I got to meet the gentleman behind the business, Cal. He's sweet, humble, and has a great personality. As for the waffle and acai bowl: It was spoonful after spoonful of tasty eats. At one point, I started topping my waffle with my acai bowl. It's that brunch combination that pairs warm, crispy waffles with cold, thick, and refreshing acai smoothie toppings that makes it oh so alluring. The combination offers a contrast in textures and temperatures and textures (fruit, granola, nuts, and drizzled honey) that makes it moreish. Just typing about it now makes my mouth become a waterfall. Pop in if you're in the Waikiki area! If you're not in the area, it's still well worth a visit if you're in need of some healthy eats and carbs.
Great place, great service, and great food! 🍳☕️ My eggs and sausage were cooked perfectly, and I especially loved the sausage — full of flavor and done just right. The coffee was wonderful too. Everything we had was really enjoyable, and the service made the experience even better. My husband actually surprised me and ordered a waffle with peanut butter and banana instead of his usual biscuits and gravy. 🎉😂 He normally avoids sweets and sticks to the same thing every time, so this was basically a historic event. Hallelujah! He ended up loving it. 🍌🧇🥜 You were right! 😊
