Sitting at the eastern edge of Waikiki is the Diamond Head State Monument which is one of the most popular and well-known tourist attractions in Hawaii. It's rich in cultural and military history and encompasses around 475 acres which is truly a magnificent view. Here you can do plenty of fun and interesting activities like going on hiking trails, picnics, lookout spots, and many more.
Diamond Head is open 6 AM to 6PM daily even during the holidays. You can go on their trail to the summit while you ascend 560 feet to the crater of Le'ahi. You can also visit historic sites in the area that includes the bunkers, artilleries, and lighthouses which was built in 1917. They also have amenities such as restrooms, restaurants, vending machines, and picnic areas for you to enjoy.
Diamond Head is located along Diamond Head Road at 18th avenue in Waikiki and from here you can already see the majestic view of the crater itself. Aside from Diamond Head itself, there are also plenty of interesting locations and things nearby to experience and visit like the Honolulu Zoo, a number of beaches and parks, and many more. Restaurants are also a plenty since it is close to the shorelines of the island and that also means there are plenty off accommodations and resorts nearby as well.
