Directions to Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is one of the most beautiful and amazing tourist destinations in Honolulu. You are able to enjoy snorkeling in its spectacularly crystal clear waters and observe the amazing underwater wildlife such as green sea turtles, numerous species of tropical fish, live coral, and many more. Thanks to the protection of the cliffs on three sides, the waters here are calm and clear making it a relaxing place to go for a swim.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is easily accessible and there are available golf-cart type shuttles to go up and down the hill. While going up or down the hill you'll be able to get an amazing view so make sure to bring cameras. Parking is limited and there are no cars allowed inside since it is a protected area and it aims to preserve the balance of the ecosystem and wildlife inhabiting the nature reserve. They also have a nearby restaurant but you can also bring food as well.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is located at Hanauma Bay Drive which is also home to another tourist attraction, the Koko Crater Botanical Garden. From here the road travels along the shorelines of the island giving you a great view of the ocean while going to the nature reserve. Also nearby are plenty of restaurants, accommodations, and even other things to do like visiting the Hanauma Bay.
