Malaekahana State Recreation Area is wooded beach park where you can go swimming, body surfing, shore fishing and more. A great spot for picnics, this beach park even has picnic tables and chairs for your convenience. Not to mention all the other amenities and facilities available here to make anyone's visit here as comfortable and hassle-free as possible.
Entrance fee to the Malaekahana State Recreation Area is free and they even provide reservations services, but they charge for picnicking, camping, and lodging. Also available here are outdoor showers, restrooms, picnic tables, payphones, camping area, and more.
Malaekahana State Recreation Area is located off of Kamehameha Highway and just a bit north of Laie town. From here you get to see the beautiful Laie Bay and the distant Goat island as well. Being close to the main roads, this area is easily accessible and is a decent place to start your adventure in Hawaii.
