Our group ate here twice. Great service and excellent food. It's a beautiful restaurant with great views. Our waiter was amazing. I had the macadamia Mahi Mahi.....the best I've ever had! The calamari was amazing too.
When in Kona Hawaii make one of your lunch dates at the Kona inn historic restaurant. Amazing views of the ocean. You don't want to miss the ambiance. Great for families and dates and those looking for a quiet Hawaiian experience for lunch or dinner. On the way in look up and check out the historic large fish World record catches on the wall. Once you sit down, you'll never want to leave. A great Island experience in a 100 plus year old building on the ocean.
Beautiful, historic restaurant. Built in 1928. Open atmosphere with beautiful view of the ocean. Food was delicious, cashew crusted Mahi Mahi done perfect. I have a bad back and wear a large back brace with 4 steel bars. The hostess got me a cushion because it was a wood chair and I explained it could scratch the wood. Wanted to sit right where I could see the sunset. Everything was perfect. The breaks were amazing along with the sunset. Great spot in Kailua-Kona.
We had a fabulous lunch at Kona Inn on our last day in Kona. It's a beautiful, open-air space with a nice view of the ocean. Our server Keana was excellent, made us feel very welcome and helped us with our menu choices. My wife had the Baked Monchong, which is apparently only available on a limited basis, and it was excellent. I had the Calamari Sandwich (pictured) which was HUGE, and the best, tenderest calamari I've ever had. Our grandchildren were satisfied with their mac & cheese and chicken tenders. Our only minor snag was the host at the front desk, who was AWOL until we asked a bartender to chase him down. Overall this was a great experience. definitely the best meal we had in Kona.
I revisited this restaurant for the first time in 12 years. It’s located right on the beach, and the open-air atmosphere with the sea breeze is very relaxing and comfortable. The view is beautiful (though it's hard to see the ocean once the sun goes down!). The staff were also very hospitable and welcoming. The menu features a lot of fish dishes prepared in creative ways. The unique, flat-shaped fried calamari was particularly delicious. They also have a kids' menu with options like hot dogs, which is helpful for families.
