Ordered a medium NY Strip with cheddar and bacon Brussels sprouts. Cooked to perfection and came with an assortment of salts to highlight your taste profile. Service was smooth and consistent with generous refills. Pleasant staff. Head chef came out and made conversation.
We had an incredible dining experience here recently, and honestly, I am shocked by some of the recent 1-star reviews. Our experience was the absolute polar opposite. While the restaurant was on the quieter side when we visited, the atmosphere was relaxed and the service was top-tier. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, consistently checking in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. The food deserves serious praise, especially the 16 oz Wagyu Ribeye, which was cooked to absolute perfection. It was accompanied by three distinct salts that added a fantastic extra layer of flavor to each bite. They also paired the steak with wasabi, which was a different combination for us, but we were amazed by how well it worked together. If you are hesitating because of a few negative comments online, ignore them. The food is amazing, the service is wonderful, and we had a great time. We definitely would recommend this place to friends and family.
My boyfriend and I saw great reviews and decided to make a reservation here for a date night out. We were greeted immediately upon arrival. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation time but since the restaurant was empty, we were seated immediately and the next guests arrived shortly after us. The service was so great and the waitress was so accommodating and apologetic to us when we had ordered an item that was no longer available. She recommended the special, which was a wagyu ribeye that was served with three different kinds of salts and mashed potatoes. I believe the head chef and/or owner also greeted us as our meal arrived to recommend pairing the steak with freshly grated wasabi. It was exceptional. Contrary to the recent one star reviews, we believe the restaurant was cleanly and the staff were attentive. Yes, it was slow therefore the staff were on break, however, we do believe we were served with timeliness and professionalism. This is a great little spot outside the busy Waikiki strip and definitely recommend this Japanese fusion steakhouse to any of our friends and family.
We came by on a Friday night for dinner not knowing what to expect, except for the great reviews. It is located above the street level so it was a bit hard to find, but so glad that we did! Our server was Will and he was so attentive and knowledgeable. He provided us with great recommendations and also was very sweet. We did not catch Chef’s name, but he did come out to greet us at the end of the meal. Speaking of the meal - what a fantastic dinner. We ordered a half dozen oysters and the fried calamari to start. The calamari was perfect - it was not over battered or breaded and the texture was 10/10. It was also not greasy at all. The oysters were a generous size and Will brought us out horseradish to enjoy with the cocktails sauce. Our steak - 10/10. It came with loaded mashed potatoes and a fresh dinner salad with a choice of three dressings - we chose spicy mango and Lilikoi papaya. They were both delicious. The lobster was very tender and it was huge! In addition to the sides that came with the meal, we ordered the mushroom medley and asparagus. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned and we ate every drop. Overall the reviews lived up to the hype and we had a fantastic dinner in Waikiki to end our trip. Thank you to the Aina team, for a great experience.
