Best meal I’ve had in a long time. Had dinner here with my family and it was incredible. I was happy that they had a kids menu with reasonable prices. Hubs had the pre fixe meal with the pork chop and it was outstanding, and I got the swordfish plate and it was so tasty with layers of different flavors. They gave us these delicious black cookies for free at the end. I thought the pricing was reasonable considering the quality. Service was attentive and with lots of Aloha. I will be back!
Absolutely amazing food. So many different flavors from each course. Just an explosion of different tastes that blend so well together. Great outdoor dining experience and amazing staff. Seriously, don’t wait in line at some kitschy over-hyped location. Come here right on Dukes lane.
The location is the only lacking factor to this establishment. The food is American with a twist. My wife had the salmon risotto that tasted like the ocean in a good way. I had a ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce and balsamic reduction. Delicious! Stop by and give it a try. Whoops.....almost forgot the baby back rib appetizer was outstanding. Meaty ribs that fell.off the bone with a sweet guava BBQ sauce.
I was recommended by my Uber driver Mark and I wound up somewhere else. I then decided to leave once I looked into Basalt and I’m so happy that I did! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with opens arms and a smile by Merlie, and then had Sharon as my waitress. She is so loving and so kind, and as I opened my eyes, after praying over my food, my table was filled with the remainder of my order that I had placed and her in the background with such a beautiful, delighted smile. Her presence was welcoming, and it made my experience here even more fulfilling. I then met the chef, and he was wonderful as well. Great chef. Quality of food is beyond. Yes, all of this food was for me! Once Sharon left, I wound up staying to work on a few things and met Ronald. He took very good care of me as well— very kind and welcoming Soul. I feel very grateful. I spent most of my time here in Manoa and heard a lot about Waikiki. Coming from New York City, I feel very grateful that I listened to myself and decided to explore Waikiki. I truly had an incredible time here and so happy Basalt is a highlight of my trip. The Panna Cotta was probably my favorite. Everything was delicious and yet, the Panna Cotta, I will order EVERY SINGLE TIME! Enjoy!!
An instant Waikiki staple. Great atmosphere to enjoy fantastic food from chef Lance Kosaka. Light music that doesn’t disturb conversation. They have a wide variety of drinks, but I suggest the mocktail “Spa Day” and spike it with Hendrick’s Gin. Nat will take good care of ya. Lance’s spin on a classic Loco Moco will hit every savory gland you have! Sharing this dish and the Charcoal pancakes are a perfect combination to satisfy your sweet needs. ☯️
