Directions to Opal Thai Food
Opal Thai Food is one of Haleiwa's hidden gems. This 'food truck' establishment serves authentic Thai food quick and easy, no hassle whatsoever. The owner's unique style of 'ordering' dishes for the customer is a must-have experience and the food doesn't disappoint at all. They also serve hot tea and you can bring your own liquor or wine, but the establishment itself doesn't sell/serve any.
Opal Thai Food is known as a hidden gem since it was a food truck but now is a standalone restaurant in a shopping center located right in the middle of Haleiwa. When you want to travel from this area and go to tourist destinations such as the Haleiwa Alli Beach Park and the Haleiwa Art Gallery. There are also a number of accommodations nearby which you can go to at the end of the day like the Relax at the Alternative Green B&B.
Opal Thai Food has a great selection of authentic Thai dishes in their menu. But the owner's gimmick makes it a quite unique experience. Basically the owner takes the menu and asks the customers a series of questions and based on their answers the owner gives them the type of dish that is 'compatible' with them. That being said, this has yet to fail the establishment is creating a new experience for both local and foreigner visitors.
