Chose to come here for my birthday dinner because it never misses! Yvette was amazing as usual. We got the highly-recommended crap rice cakes which were amazing, plus the steamed clams, cowboy salad, lamb ribs, taco flight, and the matcha tiramisu to finish. Everything tasted so good and fresh. The lamb comes right off the bone and the salty flaky skin goes perfectly with the crème fresh. I’ve never had clams with bold Indian curry flavors before, but it was delicious and went so well! The cowboy salad is definitely the best salad I’ve ever had in my life. Tacos I have no words for, they were absolutely perfect. VB never misses!!
I went back for brunch, and the customer service was once again amazing. I had Ms. Evette as my waitress, and she is absolutely a vibe. Her customer service is A1, and she rocks every table! Ms. Sherene, the shift manager, came to check on us, and she was also very friendly. This place is such a vibe. I had their jumbo lump crab Benedict with a few flavors of mimosas, and the lychee was my favorite. It was absolutely a hit! My husband had their Vintage Books breakfast burrito, which he enjoyed down to the sauces. This place never disappoints. The 'hidden' entrance through the bookstore sets the scene for a truly memorable night. It’s a 'choose your own adventure' experience: Settle into the cozy, sensory energy of the front bar for a drink and a nibble, where the atmosphere can be perfectly curated for meaningful conversation and connection... or head through to the main dining area for a more refined special occasion. The decor is perfectly matched to the theme—comfy leather sofas, high-back dining chairs, mood lighting, and period ceiling panels—making the whole space feel private and exclusive. The menu is pleasantly inventive, the cocktails are expertly crafted, and the desserts are truly lavish. Throughout, the staff are friendly and provide great, attentive service. Pro-tip: Check their social media for their weekly schedule—they often have live music or trivia nights that really add to the atmosphere. Note: Booking is essential. This is an upmarket experience and is well suited to special occasions. You will have a memorable time!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Dining Experience at Vintage Books We had an outstanding dinner at Vintage Books and will definitely be back. Every dish we ordered was excellent. The lamb ribs were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the island kampachi was fresh, light, and beautifully prepared. The Hauʻula tomatoes were another standout—simple, fresh, and full of local flavor. Dessert was absolutely phenomenal. The gelato, tiramisu, and especially the crème brûlée were all exceptional—the crème brûlée in particular was to die for. The ambience was classy yet comfortable, making it a great spot for a relaxed but upscale dinner. Our server Nikki was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional. The management team even stopped by our table several times to check in and make sure everything was perfect, which really shows how much they care about the guest experience. A nice bonus: they validated our parking in the garage below the building, which made the evening even easier. Highly recommend Vintage Books if you're looking for a great meal, excellent service, and a refined atmosphere.
Vintage Books is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to in Hawaii. The space itself is stunning and sets the tone for a truly special dining experience. The food was incredibly unique and thoughtfully prepared. We tried the house karaage, the full taco flight, crab rice cakes, lamb ribs, and the Maui Nui venison tartare, and every dish impressed us with bold, creative flavors and beautiful presentation. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive, and the overall experience felt seamless from start to finish. This is an excellent spot for a fancy date night or a special occasion. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something memorable and elevated.
