Omg! Ask if Sarah is working! She’s the best! Food is good and prepared well. Drinks are unique and interesting. The Bacon infused smoked bourbon is really good. But Sarah stole the show from the start with great service and friendly supportive suggestions. Note couldn’t get into the back room (speakeasy) but was well worth the price for the front of house.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SURFING PIG! I wish I could give them more than 5-stars…it was sooo good + the service was off the charts. The food was unbelievable. They brought us some bbq pork hors d’oeuvres 10/10! My wife got the smoked chicken (best meal we had the entire time in Hawaii!) it was so juicy and delish. I ordered the Volcano Burger. When my burger came back too rare for me (i ordered it medium well), the owner came and apologized and insisted they cover the cost. And then the chef cooked me another meal and came out and apologized for his mistake. They were so great!!! Don’t miss this place!
Recently ordered Surfing Pig to-go. I was ahead of schedule so I sat at the bar and enjoyed a Tequila Does. Sort of a margarita w coconut milk. It was good. Order the bacon appetizer. Excellent. Spicy, sweet, salty, crispy and bacon-y! Had the salmon with veg and salad. Cooked perfectly. And good. The Ribs and pulled pork fried rice. Ribs were amazingly tender. Creamy Brussel sprouts. Again, excellent. Parmesan Truffle fries. Super crispy show string fires with parm and truffle oil. Nothing not to love! Meaning they were excellent. Service was great. To-go was packed well and still hot at my destination. Highly recommend. Try it in house and it’ll be even better. Bar downstairs. Small dining room upstairs.
The Surfing Pig Hawaii is the elevated "big sister" to the famous Kono’s Northshore, and it brings that same slow-roasted excellence to Kaimukī with a sophisticated, urban-surf vibe. If your home cooking felt inadequate after the last few spots, this place might just be the final blow—the portions are massive, the flavors are bold, and the execution is top-tier. The Tsunami Burger is a structural marvel, legit around 8 inches when fully stacked. It’s not just about the size, though; the bacon-infused beef patty is incredibly juicy and flavorful, making it a "must-try" for any burger enthusiast. For bacon lovers, the Millionaire Bacon is a total game-changer. * It features thick-cut applewood smoked bacon. * Glazed with brown sugar, cracked black pepper, and a hint of truffle oil. * Finished with shaved parmesan and chicharron for an extra layer of crunch. The French Dip is another heavyweight on the menu that doesn't mess around. * It utilizes thinly shaved prime rib layered on a toasted baguette. * Served with a rich au jus that diners describe as incredibly savory. * Complemented by a flavorful herb aioli that cuts through the richness of the meat. The atmosphere is vibrant and hip, featuring a modern surf-themed interior and even a hidden speakeasy called "IYKYK" for those looking for a craft cocktail adventure after dinner. Pro-tip: Buy a pay it forward meal and add it to your tab so those less fortunate in the area can get a meal. Also, parking can be found in the nearby paid lot or along Waialae Avenue if you're lucky!
