Join Blue Zones Project Koolaupoko and Hookuaaina at Kapalai for a community volunteer event! Come join us to get your hands dirty in the lo`i and give back to the land as a community! We live together, we work together, let's get out and give back together!
This event will be a morning of hands-on learning while making valuable connections with the ʻāina and those around you. The work is challenging and the mud is deep but, integrated into your day will be meaningful Hawaiian values and lessons to make your time rich and memorable.
The lo’i is nestled in the heart of Maunawili and is the headwaters of Kawainui Marsh, a natural wetland with all kinds of wildlife. You will have an encounter with nature in a beautiful and serene setting. We experience changes in weather regularly, so come prepared. We are looking forward to spending the day with you.
